Unfried French Fries

2 baking potatoes
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 425. Cut 2 potatoes in half, and then slice halves lengthwise into 3/4-inch-wide, 1/2-inch-thick "steak cut" style slices. Toss sliced potatoes with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place slices on nonstick baking sheets in a single layer.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until underside is well browned. Turn over using a spatula and bake other side for 10 to 15 minutes more, allowing second side to brown. Remove fries from baking sheets using a spatula. Fries should come up easily. If they stick, allow them to bake a few more minutes. Serve immediately.
