1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Salt
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 3-ounce package cream cheese
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/8 teaspoon thyme

In medium bowl, mix first 5 ingredients and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Shape beef mixture into 1-inch meatballs. In 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, in hot salad oil, cook meatballs until browned on all sides, removing meatballs to bowl as they brown.
Pour of all but 2 tablespoons drippings from skillet. Cut cream cheese into chunks. To drippings, add cream cheese, remaining ingredients, and 1/8 teaspoon salt; cook over low heat, stirring with wire whisk or spoon until melted and smooth. Return meatballs to skillet; heat, stirring occasionally. Makes 4 main-dish servings.
