Raisin Puffs with Orange Sauce

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup milk
1 cup raisins
1 recipe Orange Sauce

In a small bowl, stir together flour and baking powder; set aside. In a small mixer bowl beat shortening with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beating well on medium speed. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to beaten mixture, beating on low speed after each addition just till combined. Fold in raisins.
Grease six 6-ounce custard cups; arrange cups in a shallow baking pan. Fill custard cups 2/3 full.
Bake in a 350 oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till puffs test done. Cool for 10 minutes in cups. Remove from cups. Serve warm with Orange Sauce.

Orange Sauce

In a small saucepan stir together 1/3 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Add 1/3 cup light corn syrup, 1 to 2 teaspoons finely shredded orange peel, and 1 cup orange juice. Cook and stir this mixture till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Stir in 2 tablespoons margarine or butter till melted. Serve warm.
