Mushroom-Wine Sauce

1/2 cup butter or margarine
12 shallots, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (8-ounce) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 (10 3/4-ounce) cans beef consommé, undiluted
1/2 cup dry red wine

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shallots, green onions, and garlic; sauté 2 minutes. Add mushrooms; sauté 5 minutes. Add flour; and cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Gradually stir in consommé and wine; cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
