Fresh Basil-Cheese Spread

3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil
1 garlic clove
1 teaspoon chopped green onions
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup olive oil

Bake walnuts in a shallow pan at 350, stirring occasionally, 5 to 10 minutes or until toasted.
Pulse basil, garlic, and green onions in a food processor until minced. Add walnuts, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and oil; process until smooth. Cover and chill; serve spread with crackers or toasted pita wedges.
