Church Cookies
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
3 eggs, well beaten
Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs, buttermilk, and dry ingredients. Drop on a cookie sheet and then flatten a little. Sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes.
