Cherry Cheese Pie

1 baked pie shell - cooled
1 can pie cherries, drained
1 cup sugar
4 tbs. corn starch.
1 pkg. Philly Lite Cream Cheese
1/3 cup powdered sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
Combine juice, sugar, and corn starch. Cook until thick. Set off heat and add cherries, let cool. Do not add butter - makes it cloudy.
Whip cheese with mixer until smooth then add powdered sugar.
When mixed, fold in Cool Whip. Don't use mixer for this step. Pour in pie shell, chill for about an hour. Spoon on cherry filling and chill 'til serving time.
