Brownies

2 one-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts
Grease 8x8x2 baking pan.
Melt chocolate and butter in small saucepan. Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored in medium-size bowl; beat in sugar gradually until mixture is thick and fluffy. Stir in chocolate, butter mixture, and vanilla. Sift and add flour and salt to egg mixture; blend well; fold in 3/4 cup nuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading it to all corners; sprinkle remaining nuts on top. Bake in oven 350 for 20 minutes or until shiny crust forms. Do not over bake. Should be fudge-like. Cool 5 minutes then cut in bars or squares.
